Pacesetter headers?

Has anyone used pacesetter headers if so good gains? Are they a quality header for the price. In the market for headers someone had mentioned them. Thanks in advance. Adam

Try doing a search for them I'm sure you'll find lots of threads. My question would be have they improved their quality with these new batches they're charging more for.

I ordered mine last week and should be here tomm! One question though. Did you get the matching y-pipe because it fits good or is cheap? Looks pretty restrictive to me. Brian at summitt told me that if I didn't want that one I would have to have a custom one made. Do you like your setup or does it rob HP?

I thought it had two big crimps in it. Kind of like the factory one. Does yours not have those?

Ive seen pics of the pacesetter y pipe, and it had no crimps on it, nor was it flattened at any point.

yes my y-pipe does have crimps, it looks like that it should help with ground clearance. Its not as bad as the stock y-pipe, I think the diameter is still the same, I don't think it would rob that much hp if any, maype 3hp at the most

Keep us updated I'm thinking about buying these as soon as I sell my nitrous kit for my mustang. Oh and when did you buy them, were they the latest batch? Thanks and good luck.

Mine has the crimps in the y-pipe. It needs them for how close the y is to the floor. I have maybe 1/2" between the crimped part and the floor on the drivers side. Though it is larger(3", stock is 2.5") I still have better ground clearence that the stock y-pipe. Its not crimped like stock though. Only a portion on the top and not on the bends. It flows more than enough for my application(under 400 rwhp) and the cost and ground clearance on a lowered car make it stupid for me not to get it.
As for gains, I have not been to the track or dyno but having the hotcam already there is a very noticable gain. Alot louder than with the cats(duh).
Install was very easy, only had to grind a small part of th block(could otherwise lossen sterring if you don't want to grind). Didn't even need to remove the spark plugs. Being a mechanic I was able to install these at work in less than 3 hours on a lift. I also installed poly motor mounts at the same time, another 2.5 hours with the headers off.
I would buy these again and recommend them to a friend. Long term is yet to be seen, but I heard good things from guys who have had them on for 6+ months.
