OPINIONS NEEDED - Suspension Q's
Hey all
Not sure if this is the right forum, but anyway..
Was wondering what your thoughts were on suspension pieces.
Most importantly, I want to lower my Z (02, All stock). I've done the research and searching and found out most of what I need to know, except....
what brands to buy.
What springs does everyone use? (Mostly Eibach from what I see, but what else is out there? Eibach sags in the rear..)
I know i'll also need an adjustable PHR, LCA's, LCA Reloc brackets and new shocks. I am also going to add in subframes at the same time.
My question to you is, what brands are good and bad. Whats your personal favourite? What performs well? Any other suggestions/words of wisdom will be appreciated. Share your wealth of information with me!
Want to set my car up for mostly street duty. I will only be visiting the strip a few times per year. Love to corner carve, but I also want to be able to hook on a launch.
Thanks in advance all

Springs are a complicated decision and needs to be based on what you plan to do with the car and how low you want it. I have ran the SLP Eibach's, Eibach Pro-kit, and LG Motorsports G2 springs in addition to having had a '98 1LE Z28.
The SLP springs are perfect for a typical street car. I really liked these springs when my car was a daily driver. I had the SLP Level 1 kit which I still consider a bargain. I only changed them when it became a dedicated autox car. This is how much is lowered my car (.75"-1")
Eibach Pro-kit replaced the SLP springs, and Koni SA's replaced the SLP Bilsteins. The ride is stiffer, the car is almost an inch lower than the SLP springs (total drop close to 2"). These are superior autox springs, but the car drags the exhaust on anything. This is what the car looked like with the Pro-kit. My springs have not sagged at all, and I have even drug a trailer. I think that was a problem with the older Pro-kit (progressive front springs).
I recently swapped to the G2 springs from LG. They are about 1/4" taller and noticeably stiffer. The car handles flat. I have not raced it yet, but I think that car is going to be faster but less forgiving. The turn in is incredible.
The 1LE springs do not lower the car at all, but are a blast. I think a better compromise would be to run the 1LE springs up front and the stock Z28 springs out back. This is what SLP did for the '01-'02 1LE cars. If you want it lower you can use Koni adjustables which have a lower perch up front that drops it 3/4". Then replace the rubber isolator out back with a piece of cure heater hose.
As for the other suspension components, you cannot do better than LG Motorsports. I have seen panhard bars from other manufacturers break or bend on a road course, but the LG stuff has been used on race cars for more than a decade now (it was developed on LG's World Challenge cars). I sugges the LG tubular aluminum LCA's and PHB. They aren't on their website, so call them.
For SFC's I went with Wolfe Racecraft because they are local and inexpensive. I prefer tubular weld-on subframe connectors, but boxed ones are better for jacking the car. Either way they should be welded.
I think that shock tower braces (STB) are a waste for our cars, and do not have one on my car. Two serious and successful F-body racers told me the same thing, and they are both speed shops that sell STB's.
I also do not have relocation brackets. Even with the Pro-kit my car does not axle hop and hooks up hard coming off of a corner (the T2R race posi might have something to do with that).

If your looking for a Decent spring cheap , this company has a few different springs to chose from springs But I reccommend you change your shocks to get the full benefit of a nice ride with any spring change. You would deffinately want Relocation brackets to keep your geometre As close to the factory setting as possible.you want the LCA's to be level or alittle lower than the axle {tilted downwards}, you do not want the LCA's tilted upwards
