That cam seems kind of small to me, mine is similar but smaller. My cam: 224/228, 578/578. On stock heads that only made 367rwhp. You can definitely go quite a bit bigger, but it just depends on what power you want to make.

Edit: I have my head up my ***. Upon rereading your post, I believe you would be doing the H/C package and then strapping on a blower later? If that's the case, disregard what I said about cam selection.

It'll either be that or a 226/234 .598 .599 117 cam. I do inderstand that it does seem small, but with a blower in front of it... it'll be purfect. I think the 114 will be good until I upgrade the bottom end and higher boost settings. THen the lift is increased and the overlap decreased. Which makes a lot of sence. Higher overlap would be a bad idea if you're running 20lbs of boost!.... I don't think it WOULD run.. . or barley at that.

The blower cams, I think have a smaller lift because of the forced induction. (my theroy) Some of the other more agressive cams like the F14 cam go as high of lift as .642!... Personally, that's an insayne ammount of lift! For ANY motor! I feel bad for those pushrods at high R's!..

Yeah, I wasn't paying attention. I thought you were talking about doing H/C only. But if this is just the first step to a blower setup, that cam sounds about right.

For the price of a FULL nitrous kit (w/ everything I want) I can get a H/C
package. I've found an affordable set up thru Speedinc.

I think this should work w/ a lowered compression motor. But If I stroke it, wouldn't that bring the compression back up again? Because it's takeing in more air from an increased throw?

I'm lookin at this H/C set up: $1700 Comparing this to the other choice I was given in my last thread.

Patriot CNC Stage 2 Ported Heads, 64cc chamber.
GM MLS Head Gaskets
Felpro Head Bolts
Choice of any Comp Cam Grind
Comp Chrome moly Pushrods
GM Crank Bolt & Seal

THe Cam: 224/232 .581/.595 114

I'll need the 225's for the Blower, tho right?.. THen I'll still need the Timing chain, springs, and oil pump........

Also, Why do I see larger CID motors w/ FI running a high LSA #? The Speed Inc SS has a 117 LSA. Would a higher LSA do a better job of keeping the gasses in the CYL douring boost and valve overlap? Would 114 be too much overlap for a blower motor then??.. It should be fine for 8 psi, but when I sroke it I might need the 117 because of higher boost levels.....
You can have a low compression stroker motor, remember when you stroke a motor you are actually adding cubic inches which increases cylinder VOLUME, so yeah, I think you would be good to go later down the road for the procharger as long as you keep your compresion at an acceptable level.
