My 'Oil Change' light flashed on twice this morning for a total of about 4 minutes. First time was after the car had been running for about 10 minutes, and the second time after it had been running for about 30 seconds.

2001 SS, 20k miles, changed oil 700 miles ago. It goes off eventually, but why's it coming on to begin with?

Read the manual if you have it. The oil change light must be reset at time of oil change. The computer in the car monitors various inputs to calculate when to change the oil usually 6 -12k miles. Just turn the key on (don't start engine), and push the odometer button and hold it for about 10 sec, untill the "oil change" light flashes. Done and the system is reset till your next oil change do it again. Later>>>>>>>>>
