Question Oil change caution light....how to reset this?

For the first 30 seconds after starting my 2002 Camaro a yellow oil change caution light illuminates on my instrument cluster. I changed to oil, but the light is still on.

My old LT1 Camaro didn't have this "gay" feature. How do you reset the light after doing an oil change? Is it like an SES light where a scanner is needed to reset it?

I appreciate any info on this.

Turn ignition key to RUN - don't start car, push the TRIP/OIL RESET button on the instrument panel for 12 seconds. The light will start to flash when the system is reset. Reset is done when the light goes out.

Sweet. Thanks for the info. BTW, how often does the light come on...like every 3K miles?

It depends on a number of factors, oil temperatures, driving conditions, etc.

This really needs to be made as a sticky. Or the search button needs to be 5x bigger.
