off road Y pipe

Hi,
I'm thinking about this "off road" Y pipe and to eliminate the catalycs. I have a 3" intermediate pipe and a Flowmaster installed, the sound is not bad at all. What I want is this "good old days" muscle car sound, will I need a "true dual" setup or will it be just fine without the catalycs ? Or is it impossible with fuel injection and a mild cam ??? The rest of the car is stock, I'm not even seeking more horsepower , just good sound..... well, some extra horses are never a bad thing :-)

Do you have headers, or stock manifolds? Cuz I just brought my car in today to have the full exhaust done, and will have my mac o/r y-pipe for sale. It bolts up to the stock manifolds, and I live in Florida, pm me if your interested, and let me know where in FL you are located.
