Cool Off Road Exhaust for ls1

Does anyone make a Off Road pipe(deleting the stock cats) from the stock manifolds for ls1's. And does anyone have one on their car? Let me know. One more thing, does it give you any h.p. gains? Thanks.

For the stock exhaust the off road pipe is about 190$ plus 80$ for the O2 simmulators. Get a GMHP magazine, you'll find a lot of advertizing in there, for example the horsepowerstore or speed.com....
Any gains in HP ??? I don't know, I believe it can't hurt

I wouldn't really waste the money on orps, just save that money and put it torward headers.

You can find them in these sites. I know everyone says go with LT's, but here in CA, that is not an option... not for me anyway... my plan in to get shorty headers and an orp, so the exhaust will easily be interchangeable-to return it quickly to a testable state.

Lont tubes are not legal in Ca., and I remember putting the shorties on my LT1... if I put headers on another 4th gen F-body again, I am not taking them off to have the car smogged!!!!! Hence the reason I'd go with the shorties... and they are better than stock.

If this wasn't such a problem I would consider the long tubes!!!

The ones for $190 are just y-pipes for after the cats.
Bassani makes an off road y for the 2000 but it's over $300 and stainless. Then you have to get the sims too. I think that it added about 10 hp or so. I got mine so that I could run a 2 step revlimiter for launching repeatability.

Longtubes aren't legal on any car where you have to move the cats technically.

I called the guys at speed.com a few weeks ago, the y-pipe that deletes the cats was 190 plus tax..... hmmm, not sure who is wrong...I told him that I wanted to get rid of the cats, that's why he gave me the total incl. the simmos....I think it was a MAC Y-pipe, not Bassani..... but then I was scared about fitment problems.... and broken bolts..... since I need my car every day I better wait for a long weekend off......and do my spark plugs too.... after I got some band aid......

I just put on some JBA shortie headers with a mac off-road y pipe. I definatly can feel a differance in power and it sounds sooo much better. I wanted to get long tubes but with the shorties I will be able to put the stock y pipe back on for smog. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you might have.
