my girlfriends car keeps throwing slow response codes on both of her front o2's. This problem started shortly after the we installed longtubes on her 98 TA. I cant figure it out and the only answer we are getting from any one in town is thats what happens when you change things. I have done ls1 header installs on multiple cars and have never seen this happen. her air fuel checked out ok on the dyno and the 2 dealers have said her sensors are all fine. Any ideas would be great. We have replaced them with new sensors at least a dozen times. At first it was a every other week thing now its about once a month.
This happens alot to LS1's with longtubes. You can try Bosch 13111 O2 sensors apparently they are more suited for LT use since they have a more powerful heater.

Use the Bosch 13111 like suggested and itll be done. When you install LT's they tend to make the motor go lean and it causes buildup on the o2 sensors. Either program out the rear ones, or get simulaters. I have sims and they work just fine.
The Bosch may work well on LTs with LSx motors.
However I will only use Delco. Not because I have had a problem with my 402 but because the Bosch will not last in shorty headers or std exhaust manifolds in LT1s. Most specifically the Y body. Don't know why but I and others have tried them and they simply don't work. Not only that the hex head is placed so low on the sensor that they become a real bear to get out with an open end.
However I haven't had a problem with the Delco in my Jet Hots on the 402, so haven't tried them in that application yet.

My car is properly tuned as I suggested. Maybe that's not the norm.
Youre a full heads and cam car, it has to be tuned. The norm is people with just LT's and a cat back exhaust, that do not have a dyno tune yet, or do not plan on getting one for just an exhaust. In this case the Bosch is the way to go when your stockers go out.
I've had my LT's on for 2 years now w/ LS1 Edit. No O2 codes, but my fuel mileage has recently gone down the crapper. I need to change my O2's this week.
I've had nothing but trouble w/ o2's. Could just be my luck, tho.. The AC Delco's are apparently a quicker responding unit.
