Hello, I was just wondering what people think is the way 2 go Nitro,Supercharger,Turbo i heard turbo was the way 2 go twith the Ls1s. I got a 1998 z28 so based on that which do u think is better or worse?

 

What the heck is nitro, I havent heard it called that in 20 yrs , Id reccomend heads and cam rather then FI on a stock block

 

Heads/Cam............then supercharger or turbo........then nitrous

 

Get an LS1, put some LT's on it, and get the STS turbo kit. I think with like 7lbs of boost it pushes out somewhere like 440rwhp. And that is on a bone stock car with no LT's.


He I have seen people put 14psi on a 120k mile bone stock LS1 just to see how long it could go before it blew. It put down 7??rwhp and I think 8 something rwtq. And it never did blow. That was also with a mix of race gas and alcy injection but its was still 14psi. So they are strong enough just dont go to crazy and it should last.

 

I don't have any of those , but my idea is this. We have enough power to spin the tires off the line. A sc will give instant power. So I like the idea that a turbo has to spool up first, then kick you in the rear!

 

Nitro (aka nitromethane) is a fuel used in top fuel dragsters.

Nitrous (aka nitrous oxide, N2O, or NOSSSSSSSS to the F&F crowd) is a gas (also used as an anesthetic in dentistry-see laughing gas. Although of a different grade) that is sprayed to increase fuel charge density, add O2, etc etc etc for more power.
