newbie with question

I just bought my first camaro, its a 99 ss. I need to get the oil changed and I was wondering what I should use(Synthetic or just regular?) I don't know a whole lot about camaros, and I didn't want to screw my baby up so I wanted to make sure I used the right type of oil. Thanks a lot.

I use a synthetic. MObil1 10w-30. With a Mobil 1 M1-206 oil filter. Its an $11 filter though. I don't mind spending the extra money.

I am no expert on oil. But either one you decide should be fine as long as you do the required oil chagnes when they are due!

Speak of the devil... I'm changing the oil on my car (well, letting it drain) as I type. I'm using Mobil 1 10W-30 with a SuperTech filter. It's no special filter, but I figure it'll do.

I changed mine just before Xmas. I used Mobile1 5w-30 and a Fram filter (whatever the top of the line fram at walmart is) that was made for the GM trucks. It is the Fram equivilent of the 206 from Mobile1.

I would use 5W-30 Mobil 1 synthetic since you are in KC.
