New to HP
Hello,
I just got a 99z28 this week. I have always wanted one and finally got it
. I used to have a 91 celica and know all kinds of stuff to do to imports but not really sure of where to start with the Z. Was just wanting to get a little feedback on what would be some good mods to start with, I want to go performace and i have the M6.
Thanks Adam

First off, is it completely stock?
Then you will want to prioritize set up a balance of HP mods and suspension mods. Most would say the first mod would be to get an aftermarket airbox lid (whisper, directflow, etc) and a Holley or K/N filter. Being a M6, then you would want to get a better shifter (Ripper, Pro 5-0, Lou's). You can do a bunch of free mods (free ram air, egr mod, etc). Definitely want to do some suspension mods (Strut-tower brace, better LCA's, subframes). Catback exhaust is usually one of the first mods people also do. Check my sig for other ideas, I think it is updated except for my Bisteins.

hmmmmm things to do for HP.
I would get a Lid and add a Ram Air Kit, and then top it off with a K&N Filter.
Maybe get a Colder Thermostat (160* or 180*) and pick up a Hypertech Power Programmer to play with the Computer a bit
From there, you could get some better Better sparkplug wires and since you're doing the wires why not do the Plugs as well (NGK's work the best).
All thats left is to do is install some headers. You have a wide choice here, and could do Long Tubes (most HP, but cost the most) to Mid-Length Headers or even slap on a pair of Shorty Headers. Its really your choice here.
Once that is done, a cat back would also help you free up some HP and give your car a deeper sound. A lot of people use Borla for their cat back - but Corsa is suppose to be really good, and the new king of the hill, though the SLP Loudmouth is the loudest. It really depends on how much you want to spend. You could even add a cut-out and really open up the exhaust flow and make your car louder.
Those are the basic mods, but for cheap HP you can't beat N20. TNT makes a really good system for the LS1 cars - both a wet kit and dry.
If you did all the above, I'd say you'd have your self a 11 second car easy. Perhaps high 11's - but still 11's.
...Again, it really depends on how much you have to spend.
I hope I hope this helps.

Nice car man! i love my camaro, and im sure you will too. there are a lot of mods to do, take a look at my signature. I think it really depnds on what you want to do with the car. is it going to be a daily driver? is it a drag car? a handling car? Definetely go with the sub frame connectors(frame ties). i love the juice too, but youll decide what you want soon enough...

Thanks for all of the info. Unfortunally it is completly stock at the moment, but I think im going to get a lid this weekend. I want this to be my daily driver, but to take to the track for some good ole fun.
Thanks Adam
Thanks Adam
Drive it around and have fun and get comfortable.... Take it to the dragstrip now and figure out what it does.. Go autox and maybe some lapping days at a roadcourse. You might want to save your money and get comfortable with the car for a bit before start sinking $ into the mods... You might be needing a new clutch, brake pads and rotors, and shocks if they haven't been replaced in 3 years, depending on how hard it was driven..
