New Cobra only running 13.2 in 1/4 mile
The new Road and Track magazine tested a new 2003 Cobra and they only ran 13.2 in the quarter mile time. I find that kind of slow considering it has a supercharger. Hell in the same issue they tested the Anniversary Corvette and they ran 13.4 and thats with a naturally aspirated LS1 V8. Headers, exhaust, and intake and LS1 owners will atleast be able to stay up with them and prolly take them.
There alot faster then that man, those guys cant drive for ****...JDM engineering(SVT Tuner) here in jersey ran a 12.4 bone stock and a 12.0 w/ just a mild L pulley swap...A Few guys here in jersey recently ran there 03 coupes to 12.3@113.xxx bone stock in summer heat at englistown...In some cool weather these thing should be cutting 115-116 bone stock and somewhere around 12 flat. Ive recently seen some videos of a stock 03 Cobra abusing a c5 n LS1 TA on the street on video.
My buddy, up in MI, just went to the track with his new 03' Cobra, 500 miles on it. He ran a 12.9 @ 114, on his second run. He only had 2 runs because it was busy, look out guys.

...anyway... like I said w/ a good driver there good for low 12's...which has already been done numerous times already in stock form in 90 degree weather no less.
Alright champ, lets look at some numbers. The 03' Cobras are running around 110 stock (my earlier quote of 114mph was a typo, meant 110) , mildly modified LS1s will run around 108mph and will be lucky to do 12.7s at best. The Cobras in true bone stock form will not do any better. If you want to quote numbers from professional drivers, GMHTP got a 12.9 out of a stock 98' Z28 but that isn't really realistic for us to think we will do the same, is it? The numbers speak for themselves, the 03' Cobras will do about 12.7 at best in completely stock trim, that means no bafles were pulled, no pulleys modified, nothing touched.
With a 110 trap speed it shows the driver isnt up to par.My car with a lid trapped 109.We are talking about 320-330 rhwp.Bone stock dynos from 03 Cobras have yeilded 370-385 rwhp stock! With those numbers they should be trapping in the excess of 115 mph. I am confident these cars can go 12.5's with a fairly decent driver stock when broken in.People have gone faster stock but they are pros. Not powershifting I can confidently say I could run a 12.5 with one stock.

FWIW---5.0 magazine just took one into the 11's with a catback, K&N and a set of drag radials. Stock blower pulley and all.
I like LS1's too, but they're not the only game in town anymore.
