need help ASAP...car wont start!!

need help ASAP...car wont start!!

ive got a 98 ls1 m6. i installed a shift light, and had it all hooked up( spliced into the white35 wire in the pcm, power from the asr button and grounded, hooked up the battery...car wouldnt start!...the engine turns over, but just wont kick. friend of my said it was the VATS (vehicle anit theft system) because i had disconnected the battery and that id need to reset it...ive never heard of this. any advice/help??!

sounds like it interrupted the cam signal to the PCM. Re check the connection to the light, make sure you didn't inadvertently kill the signal/cut the wire.

I take it you used one of the blue splice connectors... ?

It could be a bad ignition relay. My car started doing the same, the engine would crank but not start. $11 from Kragen. Relays are located in the fuse box under the hood. Hope that helps.

was that pin 35 (white wire) on the blue PCM connector cause that's the one it should be. if it was on the other connector, that may be causing your problem, however i don't know what is on that pin.

otherwise i would check all ignition relays and fuses and make sure that the fuel pump is priming before you go to start the car. if it's not, check those fuses too.
