Need advice on plugs, wires, and seafoam

I'm getting new plugs and wires for a 2000 SS. I just don't know what to get really. I'd like something not too expensive, but something that's definitely worth getting. I've searched for seafoam here, but nothing really conclusive I guess. I don't know where to put it. I have 1 bottle (1 pint). Should I get more? All I know is that you have to put it in there somehow, turn the motor off at about 1/2 of the bottle, let it set for about 20 minutes, and then smoke the neighborhood out. Could anyone give some advice?

EDIT: Also gonna put a new fuel filter and oil in the car. Should I do that after the seafoam, or before?

NGK TR55 plugs gapped to .060" $2 each

taylor spiro-pro wires $50

that is all you need, nothing crazy is needed so no reason to spend more.

for the seafoam, it doesn't matter when you change the filter...before or after.

Re: Need advice on plugs, wires, and seafoam

Thanks. I just used up all my seafoam. I split it up in 1/3's for my oil, intake, and gas. Maybe it's just me, but my car does feel a lot smoother and seems to run better and faster. I'm gonna put my fuel filter on and get my oil and ignition stuff changed tomorrow, when the engine is cold. Thanks a lot for the info though.

We also have the Taylor wires and NGK plugs on my friends 00 LS1. Its a good combo and it is not expensive as the above guy pointed out.

Teke184, you are by far the most helpful a$$hole I have ever met. Even though I've never really met you. If only you had a dollar for every time somebody should've done a search of the boards before asking a question, or even just a Google search would've helped, you'd be the owner of (I'm just guessing here) a very large boat?

mook: Seafoam is a top end engine cleaner. Apparently you can also add it to your oil to break up deposits. I have seen products that do this actually kill a motor before, because if there's enough crap in your motor, it might be the only thing keeping the oil from pissing out your seals. Do a search on it you'll learn a lot more about it if you're interested.

I'm raising the BS flag on you buddy. Because I actually did a search on "seafoam" before my last post just for poos and laughs. And I got 10+ pages of results.

"well teke184, we now know what an ***hole is."

yeah pretty much....

and yeah...seafoam is talked about pretty much once a week in one of the 4 main forums General/LS1/LT1/3rd gen...

and supporting member just means i had a few extra bucks sitting in my paypal.

but seriously...and i even narrowed the search to only TITLES

edit....damn the search timed out or something...the link doesn't work any more. but you can still search for it... S E A F O A M....in just the titles and you'll get results.

Thats the reason I never posted any info in this thread. All of these are common questions that using SEARCH would have found many answers to. I gets very sad when you see the same threads over and over because people are LAZY!!!!
