Question

hey I just got done reading everything from above and it got me thinking. I bought a wrecked 2001 SS in september of 2002. I first fixed the rearend so it could roll and then stored it in the end of october in a barn. I just got it out from storage about two weeks ago and began tearing the front end apart so we could repair the damage. The car is on jackstands but there is not much I can do to change that but I was wondering what to do with it once it is all fixed up. It will probably not be until the end of april or beginning of may until I get it out I thought this is a good time to ask questions. The car has 8,000 miles on it and I don't know how long it sat since september of 2002. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Cool

Where did some of you guys get this information???

If you're keeping the car in a garage, nothing needs to be done (unless you're storing it for like a year or something) except change out the old oil after the storage is over (no need to change it before) and maybe you'll want to keep it covered....................fuel stabilizer is a good idea too.

Running the A/C would be a good idea. However, starting the car puts unneeded stress on the engine, so I wouldn't bother. Why? Because when a car sits for a couple weeks, the oil all collects in the pan, so you're starting a motor with basically NO oil in it. Cold starts are a motor's worst enemy............and lastly, this is not 1967 anymore, flatspots don't affect RADIAL tires.

Yeah yeah, what do I know? ...so go on, flame away!
