Re: on my way

Futral F-13, Dart 205's, hopefully it will turn out to be a good combo.

Did you forget the pushrods and gaskets or just not mention them?

Re: on my way

nice...

very excited to see the results.

the cam is similar to what i have, and the heads are what i've wanted to get. my goal is 450rwhp...not sure it will quite make that much with the combo...but i'm sure it will be close

Re: on my way

hahaha, I JUST got my F-13 cam from Futral, and now I'm waiting for my HEADS to come back from the machine shop with the new valves. We're in opposite positions. how funny.

Re: on my way

no I have the gaskets and pushrods and everything just waiting for the cam. I just read in another thread that it was four weeks for the cam. if that is true it sucks real bad 'cause I need this put back together sooner than that.

Re: on my way

yeah, 4 weeks is about right. They warned me before I bought it though, so I had time to prepare. Did you order over the phone or online?

Re: on my way

Online. my whole build is waiting on the cam and it is my daily driver for now, so 4 weeks sucks bad. The worst problem is I blew a head gasket and that is what started the whole thing. now I have the top end and front of the motor tore apart waiting on the cam. but I'll just have to wait.
thanks for the input

Re: on my way

I dont know much about the F13 cam but i know i want the heads you got. i too would like around 425-450 rwhp. i could get heads i guess some time, but i need to get a new intake too. too much cash man. its crazy. I hope you are pulling the engine to do the swap. if you arent, you are going to have a hell of a time. it sucks bad.

Re: on my way

i'm self porting my heads. With the machine work, cam, valves ect all hardware and gaskets i'm looking at about 1400 for a boost to 420ish HP.

Re: on my way

or you could spend $900 and get a set of professionally ported LS6 heads...assembled and ready to go.

:blah:

but it is cool to say you ported them yourself

Re: on my way

I dont get it, where can you find those!? I have never seen any for any cheaper than 1200

but i'd still rather save the money and sacrifice maybe 10 hp or so

Re: on my way

ask and though shall recieve

actually...looking at it closer, they come equipped with ls6/ls2 springs, which are only good to .550" lift.

i guess tack on another $150 for cc918s or $250 for prc double springs.

guess that makes the price ...not quite as good...but still porbably a better flowing head than some hand ported stockers...for a bit over $1k

edit...
hm..the more i look at that, the more i realize that they are $1000 for the heads with the competition porting, then you'd need to upgrade springs.

well....maybe it isn't such a good deal.

besides...those things have some masive intake runners...or so i'm told...
