Are my syncros hurting?

After 1st gear I started slightly pressing the clutch enough to get the stick into the next gear. I probably press about a little less the halfway down. I don't press to floor anymore after learning that I don't have to. But I was thinking that maybe I am putting extra work on the syncros. I am not fully sure on how the syncros work, but I know what they are there for. Can someone shed light on this subject for me please.

I too have found the car is more happy when you shift with the clutch not all the way down. However i can not shed any light on your question, but am interested in the replies your post will get.

I spoke with one dude who is pretty knowledgeable on cars, but I will check with a few other experts who've been in the field for awhile and post it here.
