My Personal Car/Motor Pics

Just thought I would post up a few pics of the car in progress.

I know a few of you on here that ask me about it from time to time, so here's the latest.

Just dropped the motor in on Saturday and I should have the driveline buttoned up tonight and the fuel and oiling finished by Wednesday.

All goes well, headers will be built by Saturday and she'll fire up shortly thereafter.
That's the plan anyway.

Obviously the hood is cut to fit and that hasn't been done yet.
Motor is a 430 ci sleeved LS1 with C5R heads built purely for Hot Street which is an all motor class in the PSCA.

Weight right now is around 2900 with me and should be just under 2800 by the time the Supernats out here roll around in November.

Any other questions feel free to post up, obviously we did the motor, and yes I am shooting to annhilate the N/A LS1 record.

I assume you are staying with stock type suspension?

Nice use of the Jesel BD as well, not enough of those are used.

What is the N/A record and also what trans is going in the car?

Me too. I had help.

Nick- It's stock style suspension for now going for the LS1 record.
Once that is done, the class I'm in allows backhalves.
Jay(Billingsley) seems to think I won't need to do that, but we'll see.
Trans is a Coan built TH350 w/ brake and MR valve body made with lightened internals(alloy).
Saved me about 35 lbs over my old TH400.
The Jesel decision was easy, the Dailey was the hard decision because of cost. But in the end, I just didn't want to leave anything on the table.

I believe, and I could be wrong, the SAM car is the current record holder at 9.17@ 154

Thanks for the words guys.

Re: My Personal Car/Motor Pics

I know of a local car that went 9.2x last year, but it has a Liberty Trans and wasn't recognized by a lot of classes. I believe the SAM car has a Jericho(sp) trans in it, which is similar to a Libertys.

Good luck Dave, high 8's should be attainable if the chassis works.

Yes, launch setup will be key, especially after I've been watching the cars in this class launch identically to each other every pass.

It will be interesting.
