my friends 00 Z wont catch 2nd w/ TC off...

but if he puts it in 6th gear its not slipping...its got us stumped, it was wet the other day and he tryed to catch 2nd and it wouldnt spin at all...duno if its the clutch or what, any one had the same problem before? (with traction control turned off

Your friends clutch is wearing out. Over time with normal wear they don't drab as well.

but if it doesnt slip in 6th how could it be the clutch? i thought if u put it in 6th n gave it some gas and the rpms dont go up...w/o the speed with it thats why i was confused

Just because it doesn't slip in 6th doesn't mean it's not worn. It will probably last a while like it is, just won't have the bite..

That will show an extremely worn clutch. His clutch may grab and hold just fine under normal driving, but just now showing signs of wear, where under hard hard throttle shift it can't handle it.
