My 98Z28 A4 hit rev limiter on 2-3 shift?

I took my 98Z to the track for the first time. I left the shifter in D and just punched the trottle. just before the 1/4 line my car reved up to like 5800rpms, then felt like it slipped for half a second then bounced off the rev limiter (6200?) then shifted into 3rd gear. what are the stock shift points for an A4 with 2.73s? anybody have this happen, or is my trans getting weak? btw I ran a 14.12 @102.XX with a 2.18 60ft. on stock tires with just a cutout and a lid. this was at 4200ft elevation so I was very impressed with it.

Don't worry about hitting the rev limiter. I've done it quite often. It's there to prevent damage to your engine.

It wouldn't be your tranny..it would be a computer issue and it's not normal to be hitting it often...keep an eye on it
