Question MTI Carbon Fiber Air-lid???

I was going to order the LS1 Motor Sports direct flow airlid because it is on sale for $99. I called and it is on back order. So I just ordered MTI's Carbon Fiber Lid for $150 online plus tax.

I'm a little worried though because I noticed on their order page that they spelled credit wrong (they spelled===>cedit card). Now that makes me question the legitimacy of their business.

Any comments on MTI's service would be greatly appreciated.

Also does anyone have the MTI Carbon fiber lid???? What do you think?

Will I feel any kind of difference on my stock Z28?

Thanks.

I don't have an MTI unit but MTI makes a good quality unit. The only problem has been with the clear unit not fitting well.

None of the manufacturers can spell btw...

I got the Whisper Carbon FIber Lid, and SLP Bellows at the same time, I really didn't notice a difference, except better gas mileage

Question

Thanks dude. I think I have already made a mistake though.

I forgot that 2001-2002 LS1 f-bodies require an additional K&N breather filter to plug the AIR tube connected to the stock airbox.
I wanted a Holley Power Shot Filter as oppose to the K&N filter and I forgot that the MTI lid does come with it.

Does Holley make a breather filter for the 2001-2002 LS1 f-bodies, to connect to the stock airbox?

If not, can I buy the breather filter from K&N at the local Pep Boys shop?

Thanks.

I ordered a lid from MTI without a filter and they included the breather filter in it at no extra cost. I bought a holly filter from thudnerracing.com later.

I have the MTI CF lid and absolutly no problems with it. Fit's great. I didn't even have a fit problem with the TNT powerring. It didn't come with the breather, but I already had had a whisper lid with one and didn't need another and have since removd the A.I.R. system and don't need it anyway.

Question No extra kick?

Well most of everyone here seems to agree that you wont get an actual 20 hp boost from just a lid....maybe between 10-15hp. Fine, but that is still 10-15hp, shouldn't I feel the difference between a bone stock LS1 auto and a LS1 with a lid?

I mean if it didn't improve our cars performance in any way then what would be the point to getting an after market airlid?

Thanks.

I could tell a decent difference when I installed my lid. I got the direct flo from LS1 Motorsports.. but I also did a MAF porting, and free ram air mod at the same time.. so I guess it all worked out.
