Arrow most mods and still decent gas mileage

what mods (i.e. cam, heads) can i do to gain lots of HP's but still get decent gas mileage, cause i have to drive 268 miles whenever i go home from school (not that i do it often) and parents will bitch if i try to convince them to let me do all the big stuff...thanks

Lid, LS6 Intake, Headers, Y-Pipe, Cat-back, Pulleys and maybe gears. If you mess with cams/heads you will have to bump up fuel. You could do a LS6 Heads/Cam package to be conservative. But how fast do you want to go. The above should net 12s. Thats what my goal is. Prob won't do heads/cam unless I stumble into a money fault.

I have an LS6 cam and nearly all bolt ons plus 4.10 gears in my M6. I average 19 mpg in the city. I have headers going on as soon as I can break a weekend away from my busy schedule. I don't expect headers to hurt the gas consumption at all.

Now by swapping the heads out and/or adding a larger cam...that's a different story. You can still get "decent" gas mileage for the power you're making, but it's not what your parents will want.

yeah i was thinking of either a LS6 cam or a Hot Cam cause i wouldn't mind a little lope but i'll see what i can talk em into...i'm deffinately doin a Loudmouth exhaust, K&N FIPK, headers(once i get the money) and prolly gears...i wanted to put some kind of cam without doing head work even though that'd get me a lot more power but that also costs a lot more money...thanks

Ram Air is not for everyone. However if I were to ever get the FIPK, I would want some type of RAM Air or Cold Air setup for it. Like maybe the UltraZ hood. For now its just a lid
