I want to get one for my ta since they are not as common as WS6 and Firehawks in my area. Haven't seen one in real life yet, but I hear quality sucks and they don't fit right, you need custom fab supposibly, but that's all I heard.

Mecham hoods blow massive chunks in the quality department. Be ready to spend a lot of cash getting them to look half-way decent...

good luck,
Shane

Exclamation

I'd agree with Shane on the Mecham hood. I purchased a Z29R hood for my 99 Camaro Z28 three years ago, and it took over six months for the order to arrive at the dealership. Once the hood was removed from its packaging, the prep time was astronomical! The bodyshop tech that performed the prep work had several years of experience in working with fiberglass hoods. His honest opinion was that the hood wasn't the best..yet it wasn't the worst that he's ever worked with. It just took him a while to build up certain areas of the hood and long block it.

Should you purchase one, be prepared for a LONG wait time. It may help to contact Dennis each week that your hood is scheduled to arrive. Otherwise, you're left clueless on who has your hood (perhaps they outsource some of the production). The hoods are certainly a rarity, but not worth the wait (quite honestly). I think I have a few pictures of the hood. I'm not sure how I can post them here.

Good luck in making a decision that can cost you $1200.00!

Cheers,
