May purchase a 98 ls1, whats some problems to look for?
I found a great deal on a 98 camaro z28, the dealer hasnt contacted me back yet about my trade in, what are the common things to look for when buying a ls1?, its got 90,xxx on the odo, but its a deal i cant pass up
This question pops up at least once a week, so try some searches, too.
Things to look for are basically just the same usual things you'd look for in any car: sounds, leaks, smells, dents/dings, paint, tires, electrical stuff etc.
LS1's don't have too many mechanical issues except for piston slap, oil consumption, warping rotors and leaking rear pinion seal. Those are pretty much it and none of them are really serious anyway.
Just look it over really carefully and go from there.
Not sure about the market in your area, but I hope you are getting it well below $10K. Especially considering the miles.
Good luck!

Hey, don't worry about it if you are getting it for more than $10k. My car justed turned over 70k miles and I wouldn't take less than $14k for it IF, I where to sell it.
