Maf
Maf
Hey guys just last week my Service Engine Light came on....I took it to Chevy and they cleared the light and cleaned out my Intake system and stated that I may need a new MAF.....
So I guess im asking since the light came back on I guess I should just go and purchase a new MAF....I was going to go with the SLP MAF.....
Any Suggestions....Oh and also do I have to take it to Chevy to clear the SES light or will it go away with the new MAF?

Re: Maf
if your MAF really is bad, only get an oem replacement. the SLP one needs to be calibrated and programed. Plus, aftermarket MAFs are only good for like 0.01 RWHP utill you get up to around 450 horses, then it might be time to get an aftermarket one.
Re: Maf
Have you tried cleaning your MAF?
In late winter last year my truck was throwing MAF codes so I ended up taking it out and cleaning it with compressed air and electrical contact cleaner. Did the trick for me, didn't take long to do and was a whole lot cheaper than buying a new one.
