Question Mac Headers???

Are the Mac Mid-Length Headers worth getting, because I've heard that shorties are just as good as the stock manifolds. Long-tubes are not an option, because I'm going to lower the car, and i don't want to srape ANYTHING! How much help is the Off-road y-pipe? Are the cats high flow? And will any of it pass smog?

Yep..MAC headers are well worth it. I have them with the off-road on my SS. We picked up 22rwhp with that setup. You'll get more HP with an off-road compared to cats. The off-road will not pass smog though (since you will not have any cats). Hope that helped some.

what about the Mac Headers with cats and y-pipe? Will they pass smog?

I heard that the Edelbrock Mid-length headers and y-pipe are the easiest to install on an LS1, but performance wise, how do they compare to the Macs?

I'm almost sure the MACs with cats will pass..not certain though. I don't have any experience with the Edelbrock headres. Maybe someone can chime in with info on those.

Anyone know what the power gain is on Mac Headers and Cat-y-pipe?

And what about the Edelbrocks? Anybody have those? Anyone have hp #s?
