Let's keep in mind that the LT4 motors that were put in the Firehawk and the Camaro SS are not stock units. SLP purchased the remaining LT4 motors from GM and went through them, and they were balanced and blueprinted. To what degree they were massaged, I don't know. But the horsepower rating in these particular cars are higher than what was in the LT4 Vette. And like I stated earlier, these 2 cars will be 10 times more valuable than their LS1 and LT1 brothers.

I believe there were something like 29 Firehawks, and 1?? SS. Total is less than 200. These are very collectable cars, while LS1s are very easy to come by. The LT4s also had four bolt mains, smaller combustion chambers, bigger valves, better valvetrain, and better flowing heads and intake. I am pretty sure they also had suspension mods in addition. Get the Firewawk.

Stock for stock the Lt-4 is gonna be faster but I'd personnaly go with the LS-1 for reliablity issues. Im a big fan of coil packs. and 6 bolt mains.

Oops! I meant 29 LT4 Firehawks.

my point wasnt that the LT1 was a bad motor, but more that its just an LT1..
I had one.. and it was nightmare after nightmare.. all within 50K miles.. So I am left with a bad taste in my mouth for the LT1..
Sure they are kewl and all but its not the greatest ya know..

Now the LT4, its got some nice items/features and what not but its just not something that most people should get as a daily driver.. especially if you want to mod it or resell it later..

anyways.. to each their own..
