can the tranny from a lt1 swap into a ls1.If you replace the back half of the tranny.Ihave a t56 out of a lt1 and a bent 3rd fork in the ls1 will changing the rear half will they swap

 

I don't believe so i remember someone sayin you would have to change bell houseings and the back of it? if you have bothe just swap everythin g except the main houseing over and you should be fine as internally a t56 is a t56

 

I thought the bell housings were the same between all SBC's, 1st-gen right through to 3rd-gen (LS1's)?? IMO, the trannies should be 100% inter-changeable?!

 

yea thats what i thought the back plate is different the slave is like the fork on the lt1 so the rear plate is different.
