No, I don't believe that it is a cure-all. But it sure is better.
I did just burn a piston and I suspect that the detonation was caused by oil in the intake charge. But it probably would have happened sooner with the old pcv system.
The only trick is grinding the small block lifting tab of the interior of the block valley on the passenger side. I did it with the motor out of the car and on a stand. I have known people that did it in the car. Just be careful.
I also added a paper filter in the pcv loop from valley cover to the TB. Worked good for a while.
