on a stock setup, an LS6 intake will net you about 7-15 horsepower. I would probably hold off on it until you do a ported head setup with a cam to really see the full benefits of it. You would also benefit from a throttle body if you did those things as well.

The LS6 intake came on all 01-02 LS motor applications in Camaros and Trans Ams. While it is nice to have, I can't say at what point I would have purchased one had it not been on the car.

The FAST 92/92 setup is the way to go for intake performance, however for $1100, the money is better spent (unless you're building a stroker motor and adding cubes). Even with the FAST, I have noticed that where you gain about 20 HP, you sometimes lose a bit of torque.

Good to know, I'll be coming to you for parts

Sounds like you're doing the mods in the right order. Install your headers, and add the new torque converter. If you're still looking for a little more power on a stock motor, then I would say go with the intake and a TB next.

I disagree, what else can you bolt on in a few hours that will give you 10+ hp for that money and will support other future mods?

01-02 F-Bodies had the LS6 intake..

DAMN nice mod, but with the deletion of the EGR you will need a tune.

Get the LS6 intake and ditch the EGR, you will get more power and more room to work under the hood. You won't be disappointed.

My lil bro has a 99T/A and he recently purchased the LS6 intake for like 150. Stock his car ran 13.5 best on motor. He put Long tubes, the SLP lid, Deleted the EGR and ran 13.2 i think. I put a 75 shot of Nitrous on it and it took it strait to 12.1 or 12.2 then he ordered a custom stall from Circle D and he cuts 1.6 60' consistantly and with 100 shot of n2o he ran 11.9@115 with no traction past the 60'. Were looking to put the Intake on this weekend and its supposed to be an automatic 2 tenths off ur et. If u race its worth it in my opinion. and his car has over 150k miles on it. adn BTW whe he deleted the EGR he still had factory tune.

its a very worth while mod. not too difficult and proven gains.

figure 7-10hp on a bolt on car, and upwards of 15hp with h/c.

there is more to it than the removal of the EGR. it has different passages and runners designed for more power, and i beleive a bigger plenum volume.

while you're working on it, a ported throttle body is also a good upgrade, figure another 5hp maybe.

removing the EGR will set the SES light, but should have NO affect on the running condition of the engine.

you will need the block off plate though...most of the vendors sell them.

ALSO you'll need to buy the ls6 coolant tubes. otherwise the intake won't fit. also available through most vendors.
