ls6 intake.... not your normal question
being that my trans am is an 02... i have the ls6 intake
a buddy of mine and i were talkin the other day (he has a 99 firehawk) and hes been wanting to get the ls6 intake. having enlisted in the army with a 58 week training schedule, and stationing overseas, following that, i'm going to be selling my car in the next few months. i am probably just gonna take a little hit and give it up to a dealership, or used car lot... etc...
before i get rid of my car ( i plan on just giving my friend most of the mods off my car that really aren't worth much used )
we got to thinking
could we just swap intakes?
as in, put his ls1 intake (that already has the egr deleted) on my car... and give him my ls6?

You could. But, the stock tune is different for '99s and '02s. So, your car might seem like it's being choked slightly (kinda like that feeling you get from turtle neck shirts). Also, I get the fact that he's your friend and all, but why would you want to screw over a fellow f-body owner (whoever buys your car) by putting on a more restrictive part off of another car? I'd be slightly pissed if I just paid upwards of $18K for a car from some guy that was trying to pull a stunt like this. Not trying to p!ss on your wheaties or nothing, but you've got to think about the other side of this before you go through with it.

they'll be getting a computer tune they won't know about...
and free subframe connectors, and a tranny that was rebuilt under warranty 7k miles ago
all of which neither i, nor the people who sell it will benefit financially frome (cause im not gonna tell them)
so whoever picks up my car... is gonna have a few free goodies anyway
my conscious is clean..
hell his car has almost triple the miles on it of mine...
we could be REALLY evil and swap rearends/tranmissions

yes... im actually betting very few people would notice that when looking under the hood..
most people knowledge of engines stops at how many cylinders it has... is a used car lot gonna know that i have an ls1 intake with an egr blockoff plate as oppose to a ls6 intake without a plate but otherwise identical? um probably not.

I have yet to find a lot that doesn't take it and let their or a mechanic look at it.
The real point is that its dishonest. Do you like to get shafted on a purchase? Probably not, so why do it to someone else? It isn't the lot that'll get the shaft in the end, its going to be the poor sucker who buys it like that. Maybe being in the Army will teach you a little about a thing called HONOR.
