ls2 in typhoon NEED HELP
I have a 1993 gmc typhoon and I am going to try to fit and wire a ls2 in there.does anyone have any knowledge of this will work,if I need to make any custom brackets so on and so forth.please help.thanks,
the 4.3 does not have the power of a ls2 and to get that power will cost a ton of money.plus I plan I driving this truck all the time and I don't want problems with a turbo motor when it is 104 degress outside.
LS2 wiring
Good luck with the swap. I'm sure you'll have a one of a kind with great value to you when done. Check over on thirdgen.org for your wiring questions. There is a guy doing one right now. Also, the brackets may need fabbed due to the placement of the LS based engines is a little off with the design of the bellhousing.
The 4.3L may not have the power of an LS2, but being able to keep the AWD more than makes up for it when racing.
You shouldn't have any problems building a 4.3L thats just as quick as the same RWD LS2 combo for less $ than the swap and with the same reliability. GN guys do it in an overweight RWD car with less cubes....
A friend's brother had a nicely modded Sy that was a terror and it was daily driven.

I would keep the 4.3 turbo motor. The time and money is not worth it, use it to mod the 4.3 turbo. Bottom line if it is a real Typhoon DO NOT DO IT, not worth it.
