LS2 Timing Chain Part Number?

Went to local dealer today to price the LS2 timing chain for my 02 Z28. He told me that the part number was the same for LS1. Is this true? I will be doing a H/C swap and I only have 19K miles on it. I don't want to change it if it is the same. Isn't the LS2 chain an upgrade? Anyone have the GM part number for it? Thanks

It is thicker.
GM may be stocking only the LS2 chains now like they are for valve springs. I don't know the part #, but you can get them for under $40 from some sponsors. Just get it from whoever you're getting the cams/springs/pushrods from. IIRC TSP carries them.

Ya, spend about 3 times the cost when you can get the same chain thats in the 505hp LS7 for under $40.

This isn't a Gen I engine, some things have changed with the late model GM V8 engines.
