Ls1 spark plugs?
Re: Ls1 spark plugs?
both my 96z and my 99z had the platnum puck missing from 4 of the 8 spark plugs...and both cars had just over 50K miles.
change them now...NGK tr55 plugs, $2 each and will work GREAT.

Re: Ls1 spark plugs?
hmm.. im at 80K miles and havent noticed any loss of power..
Still have the stock plugs in too..
If I change then, it definately wont be for NGKs.. Ill go for some Bosch Plats.. not the plus 4 garbage.. I was the original ones. Those have been in every car I have owned and never failed me.

Re: Ls1 spark plugs?
I did the plugs on the SS at ~ 50k. They were pretty bad, noticed a considerable improvement in power. Did the ones on the Z ~ 20k, and while not in as bad a shape as the SS plugs, definitely needed replacing. The factory plugs tend to lose the pucks on the ground electrodes, so it's never too early to give them the boot IMO.

NGK TR55s and do them as soon as you get finished reading this thread... we have three LS1s in f-bodies and one in a '99 FRC... trust me, the longer you leave the stock plugs in for, the worse it is... my wife's 2001 Z28 was an absolute nighmare to do the plugs on because her stock plugs were still in at 88k miles... almost immediately after I found out she was running on stockers at the mileage, I insisted that we change them... the electrodes looked like pieces of wire brush bristle

Sinlge electrode Bosch are what I've been running, and have been in other cars too. I've heard they suck but have never had an issue. The bonuses are that they're still inexpensive, plat for longer life, and they don't have the disk to fall off.
