Cool

I don't have that lid, but if you are looking for a real bargain, I'd suggest checking out SLP.

They are selling their "blemished" lids for $74.95 + shipping. And judging by the comments heard and read from people who have bought one, you can hardly even notice anything on them.

Very good deal.

I've had my DirectFlo lid for over two years and still looks great. Never had any issues and is one of the best lids on the market.

They work well together. I had FRA done when I was installing Direct Flo lid and I gained 10 rwhp. The only down side of FRA is that your filter will get dirtier bit faster but not a great concern.

I just installed mine the other day. I think it was definitely worth the price, the lid seems to be high quality and fitment was perfect. I've never seen a TSP or other more expensive lid, but I don't know exactly how much better they could be than the Direct-Flo to warrant an extra $50.

Actually, design of the lid will make a big difference. If a lid is a lid, then why would we buy an after-market lid?

An aftermarket lid is a lid is a lid.

Performance differences between different brand aftermarket lids are pretty much minimal. Might want to check also this thread.

If you are committed getting the Direct Flo lid and feel good about it, go ahead. It's your car and your money.

Question

Do you guys think the removal of the two air silencers when the lid goes on is one of the reasons why there is in increase in HP?

Maybe... But mostly I'm sure it is due to the smooth surface of the inside of the lid and bigger opening towards the TB.

Not true. Fitment/design/finish/performance are not the same with every aftermarket lid. Performance gains might not be big difference, nevertheless, design of the lid will impact performance gains.

I'm a moderator of an LS1 F-body engine forum of another forum, and have seen different gains with diffrent brand of lids.
