When I tap the gas my car slowly revs and slowly decreases is this normal?

No hesitation or stumble, it just makes a huge intake swoosh and revs slow.

Its normal. Otherwise it would stumble or stall if it waited till idle speed to control the idle.

 

Want to make it do something really wierd? Do a full throttle run through first and second. When you get ready to shift into 3rd, don't. Push the clutch and pull the shifter into neutral and release the clutch. Also, let off the gas completely.

The computer is expecting you to be going into 3rd, at WOT ..... the RPM's will stay at 3,000 and slowly ease back down to normal idle.

Weird, huh?

 

Yes, I've had that happen to me and I thought the throttle was sticking.
