LS1 -- LS6 (or is the mechanic blowing smoke)

Alright get this, they finally decided to replace my engine due to oil pump failure. I went in today to see how things were progressing to find the mechanic putting the final touches on and preparing to drop the engine in. As I walked up he smiles at me and says "come here...don't say anything but I think they sent the wrong engine" I said WHAT??? He went on to say that it was a LS6. I have heard of the new model F-bodies getting LS6 blocks, but he said the heads, block, and internals were all LS6...he even said the freight nomenclature stated LS6. Is this possible, could I possibly get this lucky? How can I tell other than the SOMP test. I plan on putting it on the dyno after 3000 miles. If the numbers look good I am putting on the LS6 intake to complete the package. Any input on this is appreciated.

There is a # on the heads right by the throttle body,if the number on the heads is 243, then you got yourself an LS6 engine. The LS1 and LS6 blocks are basically the same, except for the heads and cam.

I will be sure to check the back of block on drivers side where the head meet the block the casting number for the LS6 block is 12561168 & Casting number on the front of the heads is 243 for the LS6 heads....what kind of tuning will this require and will the dealer be smart enough to accomplish this??
