After spending the money buying the LS6 itself, or swapping parts to "make" an LS6, after unbolting the tranny, exhaust, all the wiring, the K member, and then taking the engine out, then installing all the new engine parts, then bolting everything back up...(given you take the engine out to swap those parts, it can be done in the car though)
It just isn't worth the gains, since there won't be much at all. IMO, do your basic bolt ons (lid, headers, underdrive pulley, catback/cutout/true duals, tuning, etc etc) and have similar, if not more, power than what a stock LS6 produces. If it isn't enough, get a nice TR or Futral cam, then you will for sure be making more power. If you're going to be going through the hassle of ripping everything apart, don't put a baby cam/heads in that thing

I wasnt sure what kind of Power Vs Cost I could get with ls1 head's etc. but i just got a promotion at work and I will be moving to Ill and the Might have to go in for Inspection/emissions testing where as living in Wis I plan'd on Reg. it up north at my Parents property where there is No test or inspection of any kind. So i start'd thinking a stock or near stock up grade might be the only was to really go. As far as for Bolt ons i have some stuff on order. But I just want to start my Rechearch early on something like this.. never know what i might run across a killer deal or something. and if nothing else Knowlage is power in my mind.
Just woundering what would a Set of LS6 heads cost vs some simlure to them in ls1 form?
Thanks for all your imputs!

stock heads flow damn well
look in my sig, car is nice and streetable, gets almost 25mpg on the highway and is knocking on the door of 400hp at the wheels.

The LS6 is a nice upgrade if you want to maintain the stock idle and smoothness of the car. If you did the heads, cam and intake you would be making 350ish at the wheels, throw some headers and a tune in and you'll be knocking on 400 at the wheels while retaining stock drive ability. For the money you can make more power with an aftermarket set up but not everyone likes thier car to have cam surge or sound like a monster.
You can get all the LS6 stuff used for as low as $1300.

honestly, since you don't see many guys running the "ls6 conversion kit" it probably says something.
look back a few years, the LT4 conversion was all the rage, but quickly after doing it many guys were disappointed with the results and the money spent, and ended up going bigger.
i think this kit is similar....maybe we've learned
