LS1 cubic question from a LT1 guy

Ok I was just thinkin in my head and thought why did GM build the LS1 to 346 rather than the standard 350? Figured the question belongs in LS1 tech rather than LT1 tech. You guys got any answers to satisfy me?

The liners are finished with a bore size of 99 millimeters (3.8976 -in.). That, with a stroke of 92 mm (3.6620-in), makes the LS1's displacement 5.665 liters or 345.69 cubic inches.
