LS1 Coil Relocation Kit
Thunder Racing just came out with the LS1 coil relocation kit. As soon as I saw it, my first thought was, wow, i want it.
But after looking at the pictures, a few things crossed my mind.
-Relocating them under the cowl: how are they attached? Drilled? If so, how could you do that without pulling the motor to fit a power drill?
-lack of space around the relocated packs. On the driver's side they look to be contacting other equipment. And when the motor moves (with reving and high-rpm shifting) wouldn't that put pressure on the packs (ie, too much pressure)
-the picutres of the install kit, are some of those things for pluging up the holes in the valve covers? (are those even holes, cuz I'm not sure. don't hate
)
-say someone wanted to install a new intake manifold six months after installing the kit. Would they have to remove the entire thing to do it? cuz it doesn't look like you would have room to access the rear bolts.
-and last it header clearance. Do you have to get a separate part so the wires don't rest on the pipes, or is it included?
Ok, now that I've said my peace, don't hate on me
I'm not criticizing them at all, just asking questions. If these issues aren't really a problem at all. Count me down for an order, CUZ I WANT IT!!!!

for $200 i'm sure they have it all figured out
when i looked at the pics the thing i noticed was that the wires cross to the other side of the engine don't they?
and i think it either attaches to the firewall or the top lip of the cowl...either way you would be able to get a drill in there.

Re: LS1 Coil Relocation Kit
wow, its been almost a year, but no one know the answers to my questions? Could someone from Thunder Racing chime in? Disregard the question about holes in the valve covers, I figured that one out when I installed my headers. But for the other questions?.....
