Ls1 body control module help!

Hello everyone !

Im having some troubles with an LS1 engine swap i did to my 1951 chevy truck , i put everything from a 1999 crashed Camaro , engine , trans, ecu ,harneses, dif, steering column....

Now the probles is that I can get the engine started , i dont have the original Key of the Camaro , i try to have a dealer to program me a key but the refused since the engine was not on the original car , im not getting any spark injector pulse nor fuel pump power.

is there any way to get rid of the body control module , in the digrams this unit locks those particular signals im missing , thats because i dont have the original key to unlock the inmobilizer im guessing ...

anyone can help me out here or refer me to were i can get the information
thanks

Have VATS (vehical anti-theft system) programmed out of your ECM. Any of the softwares can do it. Since you're putting this in an older truck did you get a custom tune for wheel size and rearend gears? If so have that person disable the VATS.

yeah you have to disabel the VATS, the system that recognizes the chip in the orig key. When i had my Viper alarm installed they had to disable it. Its pretty simple, at the least, an alarm/stereo place can do it, they did for me.

Im using the Camaro rear end as well , about the wheel size I have a set of 20x10 in the back and 18x8 in the front ...

I have a guy that can burn me a chip for fuel and timing , would he be able to take care of this ... or what kind of software is needed??

thanks

Burn a chip?? That's not how it's done with LSx motors, you could if you really want to but you'd be stepping back in tech to do it. You use software to download the program in the PCM, modify it and upload the changes. There are a few different softwares out there: LS1EDIT, HPTuners & EFILive are what most people are using. Tires in the front don't matter just the back, the PCM uses this info for knowing the speed of the car and adjusting A/F accordingly.

Nobody can program you a chip for that pcm. The psm has to be edited via software, and they can remove vats, which in turn will start your motor. Find somebody with LS1 edit....they will take care of you.
