Yes, the LS1 is the ONLY V8 used in Z28's, Trans-Ams, SS's and WS6's from '98 up.
Just FYI, the LT1 was used in '93 - '97 F-bodies (Z28's / TA's).
'Vettes got the LT1 in '91 or '92 I think, and they got the LS1 in '97 (always a little earlier than F-bodies).
While there are a few minor "technical" differences between 'Vette and F-body LS1's, they are pretty much identical, so the 'Vette rating of 350 HP applies to F-bodies as well, but GM underrates them and says they're only 305 - 310 HP

The Vette rating was 345 HP,i hear it has a bit less restricting exhaust but definately not 40HPs worth,more like 5-10HP. Most likely underated the F-Bodies to sell more Vettes. Whos gonna buy a car thats just as fast as the one thats 20,000 less?

i know its not.if we all only cared about speed,we'd probly all be drivin motorcycles or sumtin,anyways, im pretty sure most Vette owners would like to think their car is a bit more "exclusive" than they think it is..
