lq4 iron block

whats the main difference between the lq4 and ls1 block? ls1 is 5.7 liters and lq4 is 6.0 liters, so the bore and stroke are different if i understand correctly? are there any other differences besides ones iron and the other aluminum? also heads, cams, headers, etc.. that fit the ls1 will they fit the lq4 block???

All your parts will work, headers, intake, etc. The block is deminsionally the same, just diffrent internals. (bore/stroke etc.) And of course, it is iron. Most people only get one if they are going all out nitrous or blower.

I wonder if, by it having a larger bore/different stroke.. if it would actually make a positive difference hp wise... or even for torque...

The 5.7 and the 6.0 have the same stroke (92mm).
The 5.7 has a 99mm bore, the 6.0 has a 101.6mm bore.
I'm pretty sure the crank balance is different, I know
the 5.7 crank is rifle drilled for weight & windage.
There are some windage holes in the 5.7 that aren't
in the 6.0 between the cylinders. There are bulges in
the 5.7 block by the main bearing cross bolts for windage.
All other parts are a direct bolt on.
