Lowering Package... is this a good setup?
im going to lower my car when I get my tax return, but i would like some feedback on what to get. Iwas thinkging that the Thunder Racing Package (eibach springs, relocation brackets, and BMR Adjustable Panhard Rod) is a good start, but i have read that the stock shocks will not last, and dont work well on a lowered car. i was tinking of the Tokico non-adjustable, or Bilstine shocks. any pros or cons to ether? btw i was going to get some sfc and a stb befor i read about the problems the stock shocks have. so any input on this stuff or some other stuff i may have over looked would be awsome.
o ya.. Im not looking for a drag setup, or an auto-x setup. i drive the car every day to school/work. just want it to be a little more fun.
thanx

Call Sam Strano @ http://www.stranoparts.com He'll let you know the best set up for your hard earned money. You can really screw things up if you do things wrong (and you might spend too much money). Good luck!
The thunder racing package is the best deal going out there. If you have the money get hals up front......they're adjustable so you can play with the ride height in front to get it just right. I'm running them up front lower about 2" inches and I'm running 1.5" drop springs in the rear and it looks perfect.
The adjustable panhard rod is a must if you put wide rims and tires on, mine looks kinda funny because the driver's side wheel is a bit sticking out and the passenger side wheel doesn't...need to get it back on center....Mine is lowered 1.5" (Eibach) and it works just fine for the last 15000 miles with the original shocks, no problem at all. If it's your daily driver and you don't really look for maximum track or race performance you do not need to waste money on new shocks....get subframe connectors or a strut tower brace instead...that makes more sense IMO
I agree with redz28kn3007, if your just getting them for the looks you'll be fine with your stock shocks as long as the springs aren't like a 2" drop. On the other hand if your looking for handling performance an aftermarket set of shocks with stiffer valving will be required to get the most out of the springs.
