Low #s?

mods in sig, but mainly the TR224/224-112 cam, ls6 intake, hooker LT/ORY/catback, on 12 bolt w/4.10s(i know it eats a little HP...)

does 34x (i think 346) sound low? just got off phone with them, they said it runs great/etc, but at idle its a little messed up, but then straitens out...

o yea, its a mustang dyno also... he said hes guessing it would be 370ish on a dyno jet... maybe its right, but most ppl use dynojet?

thanks
cory

Re: Low #s?

Dude, that does seem low. I know the mustang dyno brings it down but, I would figure at least 400hp with your mods.

Re: Low #s?

No way 400 RWHP, If you had heads also then yes but not with just a small cam. Check my sig for comparison.

Re: Low #s?

I think that sounds about right. You might have another 5hp hiding somewhere, but I wouldn't expect to see any more than that. You have to remember it's a Mustang dyno (assuming it was loaded during the pull) and you're spinning that 12-bolt. Through a stock 10-bolt on a Dynojet, that cam (with supporting bolt-ons) will usually be about ~380ish. The only time I see those cams in the 400's is with a set of heads.

Re: Low #s?

Rule #1
You can't compare one dyno's numbers to another.

Rule #2
Dyno numbers are for bragging rights. How does it run?

Mustang Dyno's show lower numbers. 370ish whp from a Dynojet with a 224 cam only is right in the ball park. 400whp (cam only) requires a larger cam in excess of 230 duration. BTW, that 12 bolt will eat some hp on a dyno, but w/4.10s it'll more than make up for it where it counts.

Re: Low #s?

That's really close to my setup and I only made 367rwhp, 372rwtq. That's with a lid, pacesetter LTs, TSP true duals, small cam, and tune. Cam is a Bullet custom grind 224/228, .578/.578.

Re: Low #s?

Mustang dyno shows about 8% less hp than a dynojet.

My combo only shows 400 with the converter locked on a Mustang dyno. but I run 120mph in the 1/4 @ 3450 # raceweight. And that's what counts.
