Exclamation Loudmouth help

I know there are some threads about the loudmouth and headers. I have the LM now and wanted to get some headers.. I know most people said it sounds like crap with no cats but what if I got some high flow cats would it sound ok than?? I like it being loud as hell, I just don't want it sounding like a bomb is going off when I am driving by. Also what headers would most people recommend?? I really want to keep my LM setting but if it sounds that bad I'll get a muffler.

Personally, I think headers, off-road Y and the LM sound pretty good together. IMO it's just too loud but again, I think it sounds fine. I'm not sure how it would sound with cats, probably pretty good, just not quite as loud.

Hmm...headers...From what I've read/seen, Hooker, FLP and the QTP LTs (used to be Grotyohann) are all pretty good choices.

At fullthrottle or anything above 3,000 rpms it sounds incredible, extremely mean but 1,800-2,000 rpms very bad and annoying, unfortunantly i cruise with and accelerate in traffic around that low rpm range and it sounds bad and gets dirty looks, hard to explain the sound, im gonna change itout for another catback i think corsa, on the hiway and runnin hard sounds better than most combo's ive ever heard but in the city most driving time i hate it.

I like my MAC "true fit" headers with my Loudmouth. I had the cat-y, but decided I need more free flow. I replace the cats with Dynomax race bullets and the Loudmouth resonator with a Dynomax race bullet. Sounds great. Still a little drone at ~2000, but I can deal with it. Here is a pic (not a great one, however).

Hi flow cats would be a great idea. It should cut the sound down and also will take away some of the smell and white smoke.

Can anyone compare loudmouth to flowmaster on a loudness scale from 1 to 10 while crusing? 1 being stock, 4 being flowmaster and slp is? I am after a system that sounds like flowmaster, has flow, and is just a tad louder than flowmaster and noooooo rasp.

Smile Easy fix!

Just replace the resonator with a DynoMax Race Bullet. Be sure to use part #24219, it is the long bullet and will keep you from needing multiple short bullets.
If you have any questions about this set-up, contact Tally TransAm (Ryan) on LS1.com, he would be happy to help and has this exact set-up.
Good luck
Dave
