I have a SS with cloth, I hate leather so I wouldn't be losing much. Back when i used to weigh in at my 400lbs I made it real though for my car to.....fit me....anyhow, now that I'm down to 240....I am having a lot of ride wuality trouble....mainly pinpointed it too the fact that the seat is loose....like...about to fall off...and it gave really crappy ride quality. What would be a good seat...to change out of the driver's side for now...in the Camaro. I will be looking to do both if the price is right...but what seat would be overall good quality...and bolt on to the factory rails? Also would it be using the factory power....not that I care...or will it be manual. Thanks for the help...

 

You should look in the for sale section and on ebay. Lots of people sell their stock seats. The after market seats are almost all racing seats or custom made. Buying someones slightly used seat would probably be cheapest.

 

I think you are going to have the same problem I do if you are looking at aftermarket seats. I'm 6'1, 220 pounds, and can't fit comfortably into them, even their so called wide seats. They are all made for the skinny kids in the ricers. My fat *** won't fit! I suggest checking the classified section of this site, LS1.com and LS1tech.com for someone selling a pair of lightly used stock seats from a Camaro or Firebird to put in yours. I've seen some really nice seats at giveaway pricing.

 

HEY!!!!! i had race seats in my car for about a month till i got tired of them. get recaro's if you go with a race seat. i bought the cheap ones and thats just what they were..... CHEAP. they were brand new when i got them and after a month (1,000 miles) they were already starting to fall apart. needless to say i sold them for 25 more than i paid to a ricer (guy with a honda civic) and put my stockers back in....... haven't looked back since! ever thought about t/a seats?? i like them much more than i do the camaro's, actually it was one of my big deciding factors when i bought the ws6
