Looking for a Sleeper Cam..

My friend is looking into heads and cam in the near future.. He want's the following..

-Wants the car to sound like it doesn't have a cam, but still make a lot of power from the heads and cam..
-Wants the Cam to be friendly to large shots of Nitrous.. (150+)
(What kind of internal work that needs to be done with 150+ shot)

That's all he's looking for.

Thanks

You are gonna want to run forged pistons and rods that is for sure. Exspecially if you are going 150+.

I've been thinking about putting a sleeper cam in my 02 SS myself. I personally like the MTI Stealth Cam Series . They have 2 on them.

1) Stealth I ....... 220/220 dur. .581/.581 lift 115 lsa

2) Stealth II.......224/220 dur. .576/.581 lift 116 lsa

I like the specs on the Stealth I myself . Heres the link if you want to read more about them. I think btw these 2 cams ,any f-body with the right bolt-ons can run high to mid 11's NA all day with stock heads. I know it run even better with a set of ported heads .Tell your friend good luck.

I recently installed a custom grind reverse split cam in a friends car. The specs were 224/222/.561/.561/114 on an XE lobe.
It was a 2002 Z28 with a lid, and hooker long tubes through a cut out. It dynoed 398 rwhp tuned on a load compensating dyno.
Im working on the nx maf kit this weekend and hope to have it dynoed monday or tuesday.

I think the LS6 cam is supposed to be a good one, since it has lots of top end power (~405 HP), but idles just like stock. And AFAIK, they're actually supposed to be cheap? Maybe try searching for some threads on it, but I know it's been discussed before.

its a descent cam but it might be too mild for the setup hes running.

theres other cams that are just as streetable and make more power but will cost more and most likely require more than just changing valve springs.
