looking to make about 450 rwhp

im leaning towards the texas speed stage one cnc heads:

they also offer the 5.3 heads:

i am unsure as to which cam i should choose, i woudl like to hit 450rwhp, have it emmisions legal if possible. i will be using long tube headers as well.

any advise will be helpful.

you a4 or m6? talk to brian or jason or trevor there and tell them your goals and what you have.

a4, car is a 98, looking to upgrade stall as well as the intake to ls6.

thanks for a quick reply.

decided on with ls6 cnc heads, need a choice of cam, for exhaust we will most likely go with pace setter long tubes with magna flow cat back.

im not at 450rwp with my cam, but i also have mid length headers vs lt's and i have blow by on the bottom end. i run 11.87@118 (best) on stock intake and tc to give you a heads up. also, what gears do you have? in my case, i needed the 3.73's just to get rolling off the line. the 2.73's i was only doing 13.1 @115 with same setup

I'm looking at both those heads and possibly the Patriots. If I did do PRC 2.5 heads I'd go with the 2.02 valves instead of the 2.04.

"450rwhp, have it emmisions legal if possible. i will be using long tube headers as well. "

that's gonna be nearly impossible to do

the LTs alone will technically make it illegal, and even if you just have to pass a sniff test...there is no way any cam big enough to make 450RWhp through an A4 will be emissions legal.

but for the 450hp goal, you're gonna need some pretty good components to make it with an A4.

i would think the futral F14 or TSP Torquer cam, with a good set of heads (AFR 225s or Trickflow 215s), and a FAST 90/90.

You'll need a FAST 90/90 + big cam + expensive heads to do 450 rwhp on an auto.

Think bigger.

More like a FAST 90/90, F15, and ported AFR 225cc or the new Trickflows.

would a power adder keep it emissions legal through a sniff test? I think a turbo or super charger might be needed for that.

i'd be willing to bet you'll be alot closer than with a h/c setup.
