Looking at 2000 T/A WS6 --- opinions needed
Well, I have found a couple of cars that I am considering as replacements for my 2001 Z28 which had an early demise.
I found a 2001 Z28 just like mine but Pewter Metallic and cloth interior vs my navy blue and black leather.
The other one that I found and drove today is a 2000 Trans Am WS6, with a M6 and Hurst shifter. OH MY ! .... got on the interstate and was doing 110 without even trying ... and smooth as silk. Plus it already has a Flowmaster muffler installed and it sounds sweeeeet.
However, I'm concerned with the fact that I won't have a warranty when I buy it. It has 37,000 miles on it, so I would be buying it "as-is".
Anything I should look out for? Known problems with these cars?
Also, the motor looks like it has the LS6 intake, but I thought was wasn't until 2001. The salesman told me that the 2000, 2001, and 2002 are all rated 310 HP (and then WS6 adds to that) ... so does that mean it has the LS6 intake?
It was a nice drive .... put about 15 miles on it .... curves, 2 lane roads, straights, and then the interstate for about 3 miles. The car was solid, and it's an early favorite for my replacement. It's Artic White, and I really don't like white cars, but I could deal with it I guess.
Opinions?

The LS6 intake wasn't put in till '01. The 2000 will have the LS1 intake, unless the previous owner removed it. It's tough to tell the difference w/o removing it. Does it still have the EGR black wrapped pipe entering the front of the intake on the top? Should be a LS1 intake.
The '00 WS6 would be rated at 320 hp and the '01 Z at 310 (it has the LS6 intake). 2001 and 2002 got the bump in hp, not 2000.
Problems? Listen to the engine 2 minutes after intitial start up for a tick-tick noise. It's common for either the belts to make noise, or for a cylinder to slap. Rotors wear out fast, so check for scoring or excessive wear. Clutches are known not to survive long so get a feel for how it grabs (and check to see whats been replaced).
